The Carnival Roadshow Company
Announcements

It is with sadness that we announce the death of one of our founder members, Patricia Lynette Holder, age 54 years, who passed away quite suddenly on Saturday 17th February 2007.

Patricia was a great supporter of the Arts and loved Carnival. By trade she was a Chef and used her skills to explore new ideas of presentation of Carnival and The Carnival Cuisine which she pioneered during her many years since 1972 at the Notting Hill Carnival. Thousands, including major sponsors, members, bands, stewards, children etc have tasted and appreciated Patricia’s very innovative style of cooking and presentation and she received many commendations for this.

In recent years, Patricia was instrumental in establishing The Carnival Roadshow Company and travelled with it throughout the UK promoting a Carnival Cuisine. Recently, Patricia fulfilled her dream of travelling to Nigeria with the Roadshow when she was able to advise and look at ways in which traditional Nigerian foods could be presented and a new artistic discipline of Food be attached to the Carnival there.

Whilst in Nigeria, Patricia was able to visit a number of schools and examine the conditions in which some of the children are being educated. She gave several donations and was looking forward to “winning the lottery so that I could contribute more to the welfare of these children”. Patricia will be greatly missed.
