NATIONAL
STEEL BANDS PANORAMA -

Pan
is the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago.
The steelpan, which is the instrument used by
steelbands is a relatively modern invention.
Panorama
is an annual pre-Carnival event where 12 steel bands and
orchestras compete for the esteemed Champions Of
Steel title.
These
superbly tuned orchestras with closely guarded repertoires
move everyone with their skillfully arranged
tunes.

CHILDREN'S
CARNIVAL - Sunday 28th August

This
is the time when children become masqueraders,
showing off the grand costumes of the various
bands. They perform along a slightly shorter route
than the adult bands and share their day with the
Soca Sound Systems and Steelbands, who both also
have competitions during the day.
